Prep For Your Spray Tan
What to expect: The Norvell Auto Revolution is an automated spray tan booth, meaning you are completely alone in the spray tan room and booth. This allows you to undress to your comfort level (most people go completely nude) and listen to instructions from the machine to complete your spray tan!

Before you come: Shower, shave, and exfoliate! Get your skin as clean as possible, do not apply lotion, moisturizer or make-up. If you are coming after work, don't fret, we have wipes to remove make-up to ensure an even tan all over your body. Wear loose, comfortable clothing for your appointment.

While you are here: The Body Shoppe has three spray tan colors to choose from, they are called Clear (Light), Venetian (Medium), and Venetian Plus (Dark). The colors look different on each person dependent on their existing skin tone. You can choose which one is right for you based on how dark you want to be. The most popular is our Venetian (Medium); while if you have lighter skin and not much of a tan to start, Clear (light) might be best for you to ensure results do not look unnatural. The Venetian Plus is our darkest color and provides clients with the most vibrant and noticeable tan for those looking for the most color. Both the Venetian and Venetian Plus have cosmetic bronzer in them, which gives your skin instant color, you will notice your skin darkening from the solution throughout the day, but don't fret if you feel "too dark" in the first 24 hours. The cosmetic bronzer comes off in the shower, leaving you with your perfect tan. The Clear color does not contain bronzer and you will notice the color slowly developing over the first 24 hours until your optimal color is reached.

The Body Shoppe provides hair coverings, barrier cream for hands, elbows, knees and ankles, as well as feet protectors.

Post Care: Best practice is waiting the full 24 hours to shower, but most people feel comfortable within an 18-24 hour range. While showering, take care not to exfoliate your skin and rub off your spray tan. After showering, if you find you have a dark spot on your body where you absorbed too much of the tanning solution (usually hands) use a cotton ball soaked in vinegar and lightly rub the area to even out the color.
